THANKSGIVING GUESTS AS REAL ESTATE CLIENTS

IF THANKSGIVING GUESTS WERE REAL ESTATE CLIENTS...FROM A REALTORS FUN (AND SLIGHTLY ACCURATE) VIEWPOINT!!!

ree

Thanksgiving is the one day a year where your entire family comes together, the food is hot, the energy is chaotic, and everyone shows up with their own… unique personality.

But as a realtor, I can’t help it — every single guest reminds me of a different type of real estate client.

Here’s my completely accurate, slightly sarcastic, and totally relatable breakdown. Get your plates ready — this is going to be fun!!!!

🧓 1. Uncle Bob — “The Indecisive Buyer”

He wants to sit. No wait—stand. Actually, he’ll help in the kitchen. Well… maybe later. This is the same buyer who:• tours 12 homes• loves all of them• hates all of them• needs “just one more” to compare And still hasn’t decided if he’s buying this year or in 2027.

👀 2. Aunt Linda — “The Zillow Expert”

Talks Zestimate like she personally appraised your house. Sends “amazing” listings 3 counties away. Her real estate education? Zillow University.

😭 3. Cousin Tracy — “The Emotional Trouper”

Will cry if the turkey is dry. Falls deeply in love with a house……until she sees one outdated bathroom. Emotionally unavailable for 72 hours after.

🕵️‍♂️ 4. The Quiet Cousin — “The Secret Investor”

Barely speaks, but knows the cap rate of every duplex in Stafford. Runs numbers between bites of mashed potatoes.

💸 5. Brother-In-Law — “The Lowball King”

Shows up empty-handed but critiques everything. Offers $150k under asking because: “You never know unless you try.”

🏃‍♀️ 6. The Late Aunt — “The Last-Minute House Hunter”

Shows up an hour after dinner starts. Also the one who texts: “Can we see this house in 15 minutes? ”She lives 30 minutes away.

🍷 7. Wine Cousin — “The Good-Vibes-Only Buyer”

Everything is “cute.” Every room is “totally workable. ”Inspection issues? “It’s fine. I love it. Pour another glass. ”Honestly… the dream.

🛠 8. Grandpa — “The Inspector”

Mentions your roof, windows, and front steps before saying hello. Also: inspects the inspector.

👫 9. Store-Bought Pie Couple — “The Easygoing Sellers”

Low stress. Go with the flow. Hire professionals and stay chill. These people keep realtors sane.

🦃 10. You — “The Realtor Holding It All Together”

Smiling through chaos. Keeping the peace. Networking at the dinner table. Secretly counting how many guests might buy or sell next year. The real MVP.

📝 Thanksgiving survival tip: “We’d love to stay longer, but we actually have another house to get to today.”

Cousin Kyle asks how your love life is?

“Gotta run—tight schedule!”

Bonus:

You don’t need to specify whose house.

No one will ask. No one ever asks.

They’ll just nod, hug you, and help you pack leftovers.

🧡 Happy Thanksgiving From Kim Guilder Realty May your turkey be delicious, your offers be strong, and your family drama be minimal. If you’re ready to buy or sell after recovering from the chaos…You know who to call.
